Craft Inspiration - 3 Beginners Macrame Projects for Summer

Whether you’re beach or garden bound, a little summer crafting can help while away those sunny hours with satisfactory end results! Taking minimal skills and effort, Macrame is the ultimate in summer crafting and our three portable projects are perfect for a beach bag or picnic hamper. Each one uses our amazing array of macramé materials and works for decorating either the inside of your home or your outside space.

Double Ring Macrame Wall Hanging

Perfect for complete beginners, this project introduces you to a larks head knot and a double half hitch knot, making it simple and repetitive, but very effective! Our selection of plain rings, which range from 10cm diameter to 70cm diameter are ideal for this project and with two different variations on the initial design and two different ways of finishing, you can make each one look completely unique and different!

Macrame Jar Hangers with Fairy Lights (or tea lights)

Who doesn’t love a twinkly light on a summer's eve? These simple, but pretty Macrame Jar Hangers are ideal for dotting around the garden, on a balcony or even in the house. Billed as a 5-minute make, you simply need cord, a jam jar and either fairy lights or an electronic tea light. Add an extra finishing touch with our range of craft beads – we love our Geo Cut Beads, which will add a modern twist.

New Macrame Products

We love finding new products that help you get even more creative and recently we've added a Macrame Accessories Starter Pack, which included pastel beads, quick festive macrame projects and characterised wooden macramé rings! The latter are brilliant for adding personality to your macrame projects, but their more traditional purpose is to make Baby Teething Toys. We couldn’t resist sharing one more tutorial, so you can so try this yourself at home!
