As most of you will know we recently did a shout-out on our social media looking for an expert crafter and lampshade maker who could be the face of Needcraft on Hochanda TV. We were looking for someone really special to share our lampshade know-how on the new live craft channel and we found her!
The wonderful Sam Sterken kicked off a regular lampshade tutorial slot on Hochanda TV last week demonstrating how to use our fantastic Needcraft lampshade kits and she got off to a flying start presenting Needcraft lampshade tutorials.
The Needcraft Mod lampshade
Sam has been crafting for many years, since she was a teenager in fact, inspired by a tin of pins that sat snugly in her Mum’s sewing box. She has worked with embroidery, paint, printing, papercraft and a whole lot more. Around five years’ ago, after feeling a lack of craft courses in Manchester Sam founded The Ministry of craft. Starting from her kitchen table, Sam simultaneously managed the business as well as leading her own Ministry of craft classes, alongside many other talented crafters. The Ministry of Craft offers workshops in Manchester, suitable for all levels with new classes added all the time. Having moved on to pastures new, Sam has left the Ministry of Craft to edit a sewing magazine called Sewing made Simple. Her vast knowledge of the business means Sam is also regularly asked to contribute to magazines and TV.
HOW lucky are we to have Sam?!
